Joy Barr describes how she was horrified by not surprised by the revelations made in the Planned Parenthood videos. It was after she heard the defense of the demonic by Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards that she began wondering if her employer might also be engaged in similar ghoulish behavior.
Barr describes how she was able to double the amount of fundraising under her management, which she believed was an effort to save babies. As it turns out that was not completely true.
The slogan for the March of Dimes, “A Fighting Chance for Every Baby.” While the organization raises nearly $200 million annually for research into cures for birth defects and premature births, there is no defense for an infant against a doctor with a scalpel.
As reported by WND, Barr worked for three years for the organization before being led to question the possible connection to the baby parts industry. She personally raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for the organization during her tenure.
Ms Barr describes her difficulty in getting a straight answer from the March of Dimes, how her first two days of seeking answers netted nothing but copy and paste responses from their “sensitive issues kit.” She reached her limit with receiving that type of treatment and “finally just said, look, as an employee I want an answer here. Do we allow our researchers who write and receive grant money from us, do we allow them to use that money to reimburse, because purchasing is illegal, aborted fetal tissue?”
The answer was “Yes, and we will probably continue to do so. A few days later she received another communication which stated, “The only answers that we can give you concerning those questions are that those questions and those answers are outside of our scope.”
For Barr the answer was pretty clear, “If we have no way of following the money and knowing that we give a researcher $150,000 to do research on liver function, then how do we know where those livers come from? We have to know that. And so to say that that was outside of the scope to me was just completely disingenuous and the foundation not wanting to answer my questions.”
She was told she had two options; either go back to work and pretend nothing had happened or she could resign. She added a third option, “I am patiently waiting for the foundation where I work to answer these questions for me so I can make a decision about option number one or two.”
They wouldn’t provide the answers and terminated Barr on August 4th.
She summarized in the video, “I don’t know how you can say that you don’t support abortion related research activities or services but you’re allowing the very researchers who take the money directly from you and they’re paying or reimbursing an abortion clinic for aborted fetal tissue.
She recognizes that while it is legal for the March of Dimes to conduct their operations in the way in which they are currently doing, they are doing so in what Barr sees as a deceptive manner, not sharing the information of their involvement with abortion providers with the general public and their supporters.
